\\ Hi there!
It’s simple for me; life goes by too fast. Often, there just doesn’t seem to be enough minutes in the day, and sometimes we forget to document those quiet moments…the moments that make life so special…before they slip away.
Photography is more than just my job. It’s about stopping time. An image of a tiny newborn hand or the moment when a groom first sees his bride, is more than just a picture. It’s a way to stop time in it’s tracks and preserve the moments that matter, the movement of our lives, for generations to come.
I’ve been running around with a camera in hand as long as I can remember. Growing up my birthday wishes were always for cameras. Disposables, 35 mm, and later, digital. Every year I’d save my Christmas money to develop the film. Those images that I captured in my childhood still bring me great joy, even now that I am a mother myself. I think a pivotal moment was the day my parents took me to a Richard Avedon portrait exhibit while on vacation in San Francisco. Even today, years later, a piece of my heart still lies in the hallways of that museum. It was then that I knew portraiture and the simple beauty of everyday life was something that moved me.
Your life is beautiful and precious and it’s flying by every moment. In the grand scheme of things, I know I’m just a photographer…but I also know that I see beauty in images not yet taken. I know that I can help you find the beauty in a small moment and transform it into a memory that will hold time at bay forever.
